Hello, my name is Reasley Landry. I am a member of Willard W. Allen #214 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Louisiana in Kinder. I’m reaching out to the Society for any historical info on my Lodge, its members, and, if any, its role in the community. If there is any historical significance or importance pertains to it, I would love for that information. The Lodge was formed in 1950 with Lucius Williams and Claiborne Lester serving as Worshipful Master and Secretary, respectfully. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Can you help me find information on my grandfather? His name is John Samuel Carter he and my Grandmother Eula Oxendine Carter were married in Calcasieu Parrish in 1910 and resided in Reeves,LA. My father was born in 1919 in Reeves, LA.
John Samuel Carter was an engineer on a local railroad. Everyone else in our family history we can trace. He was born in 1880 in Georgia. We don't know if he is buried in Reeves or if he had other Carter relatives there.

Between 1920 and 1923, my father's family moved to Elizabeth where my father, John Fordinal, was born in 1924. My grandfather was a baker, but I don't know the name of his bakery. They were encouraged to move there by my grandmother's brother, Will Ross, who was employed by the lumber company. Before 1929, the Fordinal family relocated to Mississippi. Are there any records for the town of Elizabeth that list businesses and their owners for the time frame 1920-1929?

I am trying to prove that Isaac Monte Reeves born 1823 and married to Louisa Cole was the son of James D. Reeves and Lucy Hayes.
I have used Ancestry and Family Search but to no success.
DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) will not let me use Find-A-Grave, the Lyles Cemetery Book or Chas Alcock's article submitted to Allen Parish bios because there are no sources of where the information came from. I am located near Cincinnati, OH and it is not possible for me to go to LA to do extensive research.
I have 1 year to prove this son to parents. I believe if I could just prove Isaac being the son of Lucy Hayes Reeves they might accept that.
Here are the dates:
James D. Reeves married Lucy Hayes 1809 Opelousas (I have the license)
James died before 3 Nov 1828 in Opelousas (he was also in the War of 1812) because
Lucy remarried David Simmons 3 Nov 1828
Lucy born in 1792 in Branch Acadia Parish and died 23 May 1880 in Hickory Flat, LA (Find a grave shows she is buried at Lyles but no pic; I've requested a pic of front and back of her grave and who is next to her)
Isaac Monte Reeves was born 9 Feb 1823 St. Landry Parish; died 14 Dec. 1863 (I have Louisa's Civil War Pension application)
Isaac and Louisa were married 15 Jan 1850
Lucy's father was Bosman Hayes Sr.
James D. Reeves' father was Edmund Reeves.
Please let me know if you need anything else. My application is in Washington, DC and I have 1 year to find the proof. It is all I need!
