Community Activities
The Allen Genealogical and Historical Society closed out 2021 with participation in several Allen Parish community activities.
On December 4, the Society hosted a booth during the Kinder Hometown Holidays event. A tub-full of donated items were raffled off as part of the Society's fundraising activities.
On December 7, the Allen Parish Cultural Center hosted the Society's December meeting, and they really rolled out the red carpet. The Society presented the staff that day with a Community Coffee gift box.
In addition, representatives from the Society attended a meeting of the Kinder Rotary Club. At the meeting, Allen GHS president Laura Hall presented the book Cane Basket Weavers of the Coushatta Tribe, by Joe David Pool, to Bryan Williams and Angie Guidry of the Coushatta Tribe. They had not been aware of the book.
